Everything you need to know to travel around Vancouver during the Olympic Games

Vancouver will welcome the world in February for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games!  To help our students and visitors out, here are a few links and details about public transportation and getting around Vancouver during the Olympic Games from February 12 – 28, 2010.

During the 2010 Games, public transit will be the most efficient way to get around to Games venues, celebrations and general travel in Vancouver.  Use this 2010 Games Map, provided by Translink, for a view of rapid routes to venues and across municipalities in Metro Vancouver.  Translink and the City of Vancouver will be providing additional train and bus service, longer hours of service as well as a free downtown streetcar called the Olympic Line.  The Olympic Line will be free for all riders and operate between 6:30 am and 12:30 am, seven days a week and will run between Granville Island and Olympic Village Station.

The Olympic Bus Network will help you to travel to Whistler and Cypress Mountain during the games.  Round trip ticket prices will be $25 to Cypress and $50 to Whistler.  Click on the link or call 1.800.TICKETS (1.800.842.5387) for more info on Olympic Bus Network Tickets.

Visit the TravelSmart2010 website for everything you need to know about travel during the Olympic Winter Games.  And don’t forget to pick up your souvenir Olympic transit pass!

  1. I enjoyed your posts, the fact that your site is a little bit different makes it so very interesting, I get fed up of seeing the same old boring recycled stuff all of the time.

  2. Hi – very good website you have made. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to write a comment to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically delightful. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a merchandising firm. I have always enjoyed working with computers and am attempting to learn code in my spare time (which there is never enough of lol).
